All in the Timing
Called “utterly delightful” by The New York Times, this collection of brilliant short comedies takes you on a whirlwind tour-de-force of wit and wordplay. Wacky characters, sparkling repartee, and inspired verbal dexterity create a world of disorientation and delight! Among Ives’ amusements are three chimps named Milton, Swift, and Kafka locked in a room and forced to re-create Hamlet; a con man peddling bogus “Universal Language” courses where common words take on entirely new meanings; and a guy in a diner discovering that his very bad day is referred to as being “in Philadelphia” and can be turned around by speaking the exact opposite of his intentions.
Ives creates a clever smorgasbord of communication that explores the riotous ways in which language both unites and divides us.
All in the Timing is presented in the CFA's Studio Theatre with general seating.
