Short Course: Summer Flowering Shrubs
Explore the exciting world of summer flowering shrubs - from what you think you know about clethras, hydrangeas, rose of Sharon, and spireas, wished you knew about smoke bush, sambucus, and abelia, and always wanted to know about Japanese angelica tree and many other plants. Bring some green into your winter and get a jump on spring. UDBG Director Dr. John Frett will present cultural (light and soil requirements, ease of growth), as well as landscape characteristics for a variety of plants during 3 Wednesday lectures, January 7, 15 and 21 from 6:30-8:30 PM. The lab on Saturday, January 17th, 9:00-11:00 AM, will provide an opportunity to view the plants "in person" and discuss their identification more fully. Minimum 10 people.
