This year’s Foltyn Seminar keynote will focus on “Optimizing cardiometabolic health through better sleep.” Marie-Pierre St-Onge, Ph.D., CCSH, FAHA, will leverage her extensive NIH-funded clinical research to examine the critical link between sleep duration, timing, and quality on cardiovascular wellness and systemic recovery. She will highlight the underlying mechanisms of how sleep disruption drives metabolic disorders and discuss the specific role sleep plays in health throughout the life cycle. The presentation will describe a number of innovative, evidence-based lifestyle strategies, including sleep and eating patterns—developed to optimize circadian rhythms and improve population health.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the role of sleep in the development of cardiometabolic disorders
  • To understand how sleep influences recovery and repair
  • To identify lifestyle strategies to improve sleep for better cardiometabolic health
