​Jazmyn Henderson is a black transwoman who began organizing with ACT UP Philadelphia in 2013. She has been living with HIV since 2001, which was what led her to organizing with the group. Since joining, she has spoken with all levels of government leadership. She is also a co-founder of Black and LatinX Community Control in Philadelphia.

​José Demarco is a queer Afro-Latino AIDS organizer. He tested positive for HIV in 1991 and came to ACT UP Philadelphia in 1996 after the loss of his life partner of 20 years in 1994. He has organized countless campaigns from access to life-saving HIV medication to condoms in prisons to housing issues at present. José has been arrested 10 times for civil disobedience protest actions. He believes in 2023 that HIV infections are proof positive of racial, social, and economic injustices. He is also a co-founder of Black and LatinX Community Control in Philadelphia.​
