ARSC 300 Issues in Global Studies Lecture Series
Monsters in World Culture: Introduction - What Hades Cannot Contain: Monsters from Ancient Greece Tyson Sukava, Classics / Mediterranean Studies. Heroes slay monsters, and children befriend them. This course presents monsters from classical mythology to the modern world: vampires and zombies, werewolves and sea monsters, Frankenstein in Baghdad, the Golem of Prague, Godzilla and Pokémon, Day of the Dead; the Hindu Rashtra, Spanish wild women; Delaware’s own Patty Cannon, and more.
