Verna Thompson, Kent County Master Gardener

Are you trying to reduce the amount of trash you send to the landfill?  We’re here to provide information on how to use the food scraps you accumulate every day in your kitchen to improve the soil structure and increase moisture retention in your garden. In addition to the environmental benefits of composting, this workshop will provide information on simple steps to develop a backyard compost system, including using kitchen and yard waste in compost, maintaining healthy compost, and using compost in the garden.  After you attend this workshop, you will never want to place valuable kitchen and yard waste in your trash can!

This workshop will be offered online via Zoom. Zoom login information will be provided to registered participants by email prior to the workshop.  http://www.udel.edu/007933
