About this Event
John A. Munroe Hall, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19711, USA
Please join the Department of Anthropology as we invite our UD community to learn more about recent and proposed migration policies that continue to impact the lives of migrants today. Last year, the Department of Anthropology and members of the UD community worked to complete and install approximately 2,000 toe tags to memorialize the remains of migrants recovered at the US-Mexico border for our installation, Hostile Terrain 94. This year, we invite members of our community to join us in updating the board with the tags of recently recovered migrants, as well as view new materials related to current border policies, including deportation. Many people have questions about migration policy in the lead up to the 2024 Presidential Election, and this event will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect on bipartisan border policies over the past two decades. Please feel free to "drop in" to the event any time between 12pm-5pm. We will have structured discussion at 1:00pm and 3:00pm and you are welcome to ask questions and contribute to discussion, or simply absorb and participate in the interactive features of the event.
