The conference's goals are to promote innovative teaching methodologies and foster professional growth among educators. Simulations! Group work! Hands-on activities! Learn about the new 5th Grade Economics model lessons which have been released and are currently being taught across the state. This session will focus on the lessons for Economics Standards 2 (Macro), 3 (Systems) and 4 (Trade).

Economics For All: A Culturally Responsive Approach

This session will highlight secondary Economics resources that provide opportunities for students to: critically examine topics of social and economic inequality, engage appropriately with difficult or controversial topics, and emphasize cultural pluralism and social justice.

Inclusive Financial Literacy
1:30-2:20pm, Zoom
Attitudes, traditions, family beliefs, culture and values about money, wealth, institutions, and even daily financial decisions vary greatly among different demographic groups. This session focuses on how to recognize bias in existing financial literacy classroom materials and how to identify ways to make our financial literacy classes more inclusive.
