In celebration of National Library Week taking place from Sunday, April 23 to Saturday, April 29, 2023, the UD Library, Museums and Press will host a children's book drive of new and gently used children's books that will benefit the students of West Park Place Elementary School located in Newark, Delaware.

West Park Place Elementary School is a public, primary school in Christina School District that teaches kindergarten to fifth grade and is located just a few blocks from Morris Library.

Following the drive, books will be delivered to the school and will be placed in the school's Library Media Center for all students to access and borrow on a weekly basis. Duplicate copies of any books will be distributed to students to take home to grow their personal home libraries.
