http://cis.udel.eduTitle: Building a Reliable Future for Your Software Applications
Abstract: This talk focuses on building highly scalable and reliable software applications within cloud native as well as on-premise infrastructure. We will introduce the concept of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering along with taking a brief look at the evolution of software teams over the past two decades and learn about common challenges they encountered while scaling their applications. After introducing some of the concepts and principles that govern Reliability Engineering, we will take an example application and work through a systems design for this application focusing on applying the concepts we just learnt pertaining to reliability engineering. The example we will cover in the talk also serves as a good primer for any students seeking software engineering jobs in the industry post their education as Systems Design Interviews are a common part of interviewing at companies these days.
