Nor Ismah, Decolonizing Religious Knowledge: Women Issuing Fatwas and Challenging Male Dominated Authority in Java, Indonesia

Faculty of the Asian Studies Program at the University of Delaware are delighted to announce the following presentations by the 2023-2024 International Emerging Scholars in Asian Studies.

In total, twelve awardees have been chosen from eighty-one proposals submitted in Fall 2023.  With the exceptions of the Anthropology-Asian Studies and the Art History-Asian Studies awardees who have completed their presentations at separate events in October 2023 and February 2024, all awardees will present their papers in April 2024 to celebrate the UD-Asian studies Emerging Scholars Month.  Please join us to learn about their research.  

All presentations are open to the public.  Registration is requested for both virtual and in-person guests.
