DESCRIPTION:DINING WITH DIABETES\n\nA cooking program for people with diabe
 tes and their families\n\n \n\nABOUT THE PROGRAM\n\nFollowing a careful mea
 l plan is the first step managing diabetes and keeping blood sugars\na ther
 apeutic range. This is also the hardest step in diabetes management. Dining
  with Diabetes helps by teaching persons with diabetes ways to reduce sugar
 \, salt\, and fat in foods\, without giving up good taste.  The program is 
 designed for people with diabetes and their family members. The five- lass 
 series includes diabetes education\, cook demonstrations\, and tasting of h
 ealthy foods. after each lesson\, participants will take home recipes and k
 nowledge about how to manage diabetes in their daily lives.\n\nPARTICIPANTS
 \nPeople with diabetes and their family members\, caregivers\, and support 
 persons can enroll in Dining with Diabetes. But anyone\, with or without di
 abetes\, can attend. This program is designed to complement\, not replace\,
  diabetes management classes.\n\nINSTRUCTORS\n\nClasses are taught by Unive
 rsity of Delaware Cooperative Extension staff.\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT\nClass 1 -
