Sam Matylewicz has nearly three years of service with GE Vernova’s nuclear business, contributing expertise to both Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design and Electrical Component Engineering. As of recent, Sam has been designing control systems for sodium fast reactors. In his previous role at GE Vernova, Sam served as an Electrical Component Engineer focused on the design of electromagnetic pumps for liquid metal applications.

 

Sam graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in July 2021 and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minors in Physics and Sustainable Technologies in May 2020 from the University of Delaware. 

 

Sam worked under Dr.Goossen performing energy audits for Energize Delaware, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy as a student auditor during his undergraduate studies and transitioned to a Graduate Research Assistant while pursuing his graduate degree. 

 

Outside of the university, Sam interned at Production Systems Automation, Inc. for nine months, programming PLCs for production lines and designing operator interfaces, enhancing his hands-on experience in automation and control systems.
