Faculty Commons Book Club
Join your colleagues for the first meeting of the year, which will highlight "The Case for Inclusive Teaching," an article by Kevin Gannon that shows that what happens in the classroom is key to helping students succeed.
Adam Foley, director of diversity education in the Office of Equity and Inclusion, will use this reading to facilitate a discussion of the ways in which course design and teaching strategies can help promote a sense of belonging for all students. Each meeting is led by UD faculty and staff experts.
Anyone in the UD community who teaches or has an interest in teaching and learning is welcome to participate in the Faculty Commons Book Club.
This year, the readings will be shorter in form, focusing on timely articles and chapters—rather than full books—that prompt discussions to inform and improve teaching.
