Learn about the structure of a hive, beekeeping through the seasons at UD, our current projects, and how we process honey. Each registered participant will get to take home a beeswax candle made here at UD. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves for an up-close look at our honey bees and our honey production!

UD maintains approximately 60 honey bee colonies which are used for teaching, research, and outreach, as well as making honey and other products of the hive. Come visit our on-campus teaching apiary to see the hives in action!

Sessions will be offered at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

• Children under 18 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult
• Recommended age for this experience is 10 years and older
• Held in a working apiary with bees and the potential for stings. Those with bee allergies should not attend.
