About this Event
Facilitators: Maria Barefoot, Alison Wessel & Lauren Kelley, PhD
Session Description:
Strong grant proposals begin with strong foundations—not shortcuts. The session addresses critical compliance topics including current funder policies on AI use, intellectual property protection, and the boundaries between appropriate and prohibited AI assistance. You'll then discover how AI tools like Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini can serve as strategic resources for brainstorming, editing, and research synthesis—when used thoughtfully and transparently. Built on Stanford Medicine's "10 Simple Rules for Using AI in Grant Writing," this workshop ensures you can leverage modern tools while maintaining the authentic voice, scientific rigor, and intellectual integrity that grant reviewers value most. A smart device is recommended to explore free and UD-licensed AI tools during the interactive session.
