GUILLAUME COMBET

Violin

​Guillaume Combet is an Associate Professor at the University of Delaware School of Music. He is an internationally acclaimed violinist and has been heralded in his most recent recording for his “perfect technique, fidelity to the music, and impeccable articulation."

Recorded in London at the Menuhin Hall and released by SOMM Recordings in 2021, the Carlock (of the late Sandra Carlock)-Combet Duo's Romantic Violin Sonatas received a 5-star review by the French magazine Classica, citing their “constant insights from beginning to end...their generous and rich colour palette" and Mr. Combet's “rich, captivating sound." Their debut disc of French violin sonatas was released in 2017, also by SOMM Recordings, to great critical acclaim. 

Mr. Combet has devoted himself to orchestral playing and chamber music. He has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles in Paris, Chicago and Philadelphia including Orchestra de l'Opéra de Paris Bastille, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia among many others.  As a sought-after chamber musician, he has performed throughout the country including the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in Los Angeles, Chicago Cultural Center on the WFMT Dame Myra Hess Concert Series, University of Chicago, University of Delaware, Temple University, Philadelphia Ethical Society, and WRTI.

Mr. Combet graduated with a Premier Prix (First Prize) in Violin and Chamber Music from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he studied with Gérard Poulet and Sylvie Gazeau.  He received his Advanced Certificate in Violin Performance from The Juilliard School where he studied with Joel Smirnoff, Robert Mann and William Lincer.

KTISTIN DITLOW

Piano

Known for her passion, musicality, and musical storytelling, pianist Kristin Ditlow is enjoying a performance and teaching career throughout the United States and abroad.  Travel, wonder and exploration are greatly important to this artist and her playing reflects this. Critics have hailed her performances as “fiery, with great thrusts of energy" (Bethlehem Morning Call), and containing a “burnished color and sense of passion" (The Philadelphia Inquirer).

Affetto Records released her solo debut CD, Passages, in April of 2023. This disc has already garnered performance bookings throughout the United States and Europe. Music critic Harry Musselwhite (Rome News-Tribune) hailed the disc as “sonically breathtaking, and her playing ranges from intimate pianistic thoughts to thundering room-shaking outbursts. She is a consummate interpreter." 

Kristin's formal training includes degrees from Oberlin, Westminster Choir College, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music, with further accolades and recognition from Tanglewood Music Center, the Franz Schubert Institut (Austria) and the San Francisco Opera Center / Merola Program. 

Dr. Ditlow is an Associate Professor of Music and Music Director of UNM Opera Theatre at the University of New Mexico, and has appeared with such organizations as Santa Fe Opera, Carmel Bach Festival, Opera Southwest, Central City Opera, Syracuse Opera, Opera Steamboat, Permian Basin Opera, Raylynmor Opera, the Princeton Festival, Opera Ithaca, Opera Philadelphia, and countless educational institutions in the United States, mainland China, and Western Europe.
