Lecture 1: Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 12pm via Zoom with Gary Spock
Think Outside the Big Box Store and Plant Something Different
Join professional grower, propagator, and lifelong plant nerd, Gary for a fresh look at hardy perennial plants. Gary will share his favorite rare, unusual, and maybe downright esoteric species that can bring new life, texture, and interest to your garden. Whether you're a seasoned horticulturist or a budding plant lover, this talk will leave you inspired to think beyond the conventional, experiment with new possibilities, and cultivate a garden that truly reflects your creativity and passion for plants.
Gary Spock studied Ornamental Horticulture at The Barnes Foundation and Greenhouse Management at University of Arkansas before going on to manage a large retail nursery and public garden in the hills of upper Bucks County. There he grew a diverse range of plants including perennials, trees, tropicals and more. He now operates a small specialty nursery in Philadelphia, Rabbit Hole Plants (https://www.rabbitholeplants.com/), where he grows and propagates many of the rare plants he will be talking about.
