About this Event
Gore Hall, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716, USA
Jane E. Klinger, Chief Conservator for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and a Coremans Fellow in the Preservation Studies program at the University of Delaware, will be delivering a guest lecture in Dr. Polly Zavadivker's JWST/HIST254: Jewish Holocaust 1933-1945 class. She will discuss the material culture of the Holocaust and its use for exhibition and research. She will touch upon choices that are made by historian curators in determining the objects to include in an exhibition and how that reflects the emphasis placed on different aspects of a complex and difficult history.
Included in the lecture will be the conservator's imperative to preserve the collections and provide guidelines for safe and appropriate display.
