Grab some popcorn and join us for a movie night! Coded Bias explores the fallout of MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini’s discovery that facial recognition does not see dark-skinned faces accurately, and her journey to push for the first-ever legislation in the U.S. to govern against bias in the algorithms that impact us all.

We encourage everyone to watch the movie from 6:00pm-7:30pm, and then join us for a Q&A with the filmmaker, Shalini Kantayya, from 7:45-8:45. If you are not able to view the movie at 6:00pm, you can watch it on your own time and meet us for the Q&A at 7:45. The film will be available to watch from Friday 4/23 through Friday 4/30.
