Library Exhibits “Seamus Heaney: In Memoriam”
The University of Delaware Library [www.udel.edu/library] announces a new exhibition case on “Seamus Heaney: In Memoriam” drawn from the circulating collection of the Morris Library and located in the entrance to the Morris Library. The exhibition will be on view from September 24, 2013, through Friday, October 25, 2013.
Seamus Heaney (1939-2013), one of the world’s leading poets and playwrights, received the 1995 Nobel Prize in Literature. He lived in Dublin, Ireland, from 1972 until his death on August 30, 2013.
The University of Delaware Library holds a strong collection of Irish literature including materials by Seamus Heaney.
The curators of “Seamus Heaney: In Memoriam” were Maureen Cech, senior assistant librarian, Manuscripts and Archives Department, and Timothy Murray, head, Special Collections Department [www.lib.udel.edu/ud/spec].
