Lights, Camera, Earth! Film Series: Crude
The second of a five-film series highlighting how communities facing environmental degradation fight back, Crude provides a ground-level view of an extraordinary legal drama pitting 30,000 indigenous and colonial rainforest dwellers in Ecuador against the U.S. oil giant Chevron over widespread soil and water contamination. Tom Powers of the Department of Philosophy and director of the Center for Science, Ethics, and Public Policy will lead a discussion after the film.
The film series continues every Wednesday night at 7:30 through March 22.
