UD Cooperative Extension presents a FREE Mental Health First Aid class held on September 12, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Beebe Lighthouse Plaza located at 19323 Lighthouse Plaza Boulevard, Rehoboth Beach, DE.

A second class will be held on September 17, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Long Neck Family Medicine Residency Clinic located at 3250 Longneck Rd. Millsboro, DE.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. 

This FREE course will teach you how to  apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):

• • Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
• • Listen nonjudgmentally.
• • Give reassurance and information.
• • Encourage appropriate professional help.
• • Encourage self-help and other support strategies.

This training is ideal for: 

Employers. • Police officers. • Hospital staff. • First responders. • Caring individuals.
