Join Andrew Jenks, a disability politics scholar who works at UD’s Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning, to consider the duality of two realities people with disabilities face in their everyday lives in the context of generative AI.

The first reality: The considerations and experiences of people with disabilities are often left out of decision-making processes that produce policy, like those being made within the University and individual classrooms. The second reality: People with disabilities are often the “test market” and expert users of many tools used by the masses to gain more physical and electronic access to the world, like closed captioning, descriptive audio, voice-to-text, and other predictive and generative AI tools.

Engage in discussion around the multilayered and multifaceted pitfalls and promises of generative artificial intelligence in the context of disability and access, specifically in universities and at UD.
