Please join Chemours and the University of Delaware College of Engineering for a Power of Applied Chemistry seminar featuring Stephen Forrest on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the FinTech Innovation Hub.
Known for his invention of phosphorescent OLEDs, innovations in organic LEDs, organic thin film and advances in photodetectors for optical communications, Stephen Forrest is the Peter A. Franken Distinguished University Professor of Engineering and former Vice President for Research at the University of Michigan.
About the speaker
Stephen Forrest, Peter A. Franken Distinguished University Professor of Engineering at the University of Michigan, is a Fellow of the APS, IEEE and OSA and a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Inventors. He has received numerous awards and medals for his invention of phosphorescent OLEDs, innovations in organic LEDs, organic thin film and advances in photodetectors for optical communications. Forrest has authored ~650 papers in refereed journals and has 384 US patents, many of which are also granted worldwide. He is co-founder or founding participant in several companies and is on the Growth Technology Advisory Board of Applied Materials. He is past Chairman of the Board of the University Musical Society and served as Chairman of the Board of Ann Arbor SPARK. His first book, Organic Electronics: Foundations to Applications, was published in September 2020.
The Power of Applied Chemistry Seminar Series, presented by Chemours and the University of Delaware, promotes the advancement of chemistry, materials and engineering education and research through academic and industry partnership.
