Sit-In & Study
In 1957 nine courageous children known as the Little Rock Nine risked their lives to integrate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their actions mobilized a nation to insure that access to a quality education was granted to all Americans and helped to define the Civil Rights Movement. In honor of the Little Rock Nine, the Sit-In and Study program was created in 2013 to improve the academic performance of African American and Latino students by creating a culture of study and community.
Participants who register and attend study hall for at least 2.5 hours are invited to dinner in the CBC starting at 6:00 pm. To RSVP visit http://bit.ly/cbc-sis.
