A coastal town, Viña del Mar is nestled between the second largest city in the country, Valparaiso, recognized as a World Heritage City, and the dunes of Concón, known as the gastronomical capital of Chile. Viña del Mar is only 1.5 hours from Chile’s capital, Santiago, and is famous for its resorts and its music festival (the oldest and the largest in Latin America). Viña del Mar is known as the “university city” which makes it an ideal place for international students to study the Spanish language and Chilean culture through courses at the University of Viña del Mar, a nationally accredited private institution of higher education. Course topics are connected to the rich history and culture of Chile.
