Summer 2020 Netherlands/France ENGL Interest Meeting

Examine Written Communications in Business in the Netherlands, one of the most vibrant and modern European countries. Its capital, Amsterdam, is an extremely diverse city, with 180 different nationalities living there. Go for a short visit to Brussels, the unofficial capital of the European Union, and meet representatives from various nations, as well as American expatriates working in multinational companies. Spend a week in France, as we follow the historical trail of WWII, and learn about popular culture through reading the graphic novels of a region that has a long tradition in the genre. France, Belgium, and Holland have theme parks, museums, and city tours devoted to the graphic novel. Visit these centers and learn about the people who examine the serious and the comic in life through this non-traditional, seemingly playful literary genre. Learn more during this introductory session with Faculty Director Dr. Gitu Barua.
