Registration is now open for the Summer Institute on Teaching (SIT)!

The Summer Institute on Teaching (SIT) is an intensive and celebratory multi-day event that brings together educators from across the University of Delaware to build and strengthen a community around teaching and learning. The institute highlights emerging and established pedagogical practices, resources, and technology tools with an emphasis on evidence and scholarship. It also provides a showcase for the exceptional efforts and accomplishments of UD’s educators.

This summer’s institute will occur over two days:

  • May 29th: Online via Zoom.
    • Our day begins with a panel of UD faculty sharing their stories of teaching and learning with Generative AI.
    • Continue your learning path about AI with a dedicated session track, or explore other topics in teaching and learning.
  • May 30th: In-person on the UD campus in Newark (ISE Lab)
    • Session tracks include: Student Mental Health and Wellbeing, Talking about Talking, Connecting with our Students, and Back to Basics.
    • New this year: Sandbox sessions for hands-on exploration of AI tools and platforms.
    • Lunch provided with advanced registration.

Advance registration is required for in-person participation.

The event is free for all faculty, staff, and students at UD. If you know someone who is new to teaching at UD, please forward this message on to them!

Please reach out to co-chairs Rose Muravchick (rosemur@udel.edu) and Charissa Powell (charissa@udel.edu) with questions.
