The Critical Perspectives Mentor Lecture Series (formerly known as the Minority Mentor Lecture Series, or MMLS) was created in 2008 by graduate students in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware to address the disproportionate representation of minority scholars in the fields of Criminology and Sociology. This series, which receives substantial financial support from the department but is organized and run by graduate students, aims to showcase the important work of minority scholars in these fields, provide mentoring and network opportunities for students, and cultivate professional development for all graduate students. This event includes a guest lecture for the UD and broader Delaware community, a reception for our department and sponsors, a professional development session for graduate students and mentorship opportunities. This will be on Friday, April 24 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Gore 304.
