Tim Oliver Lecture
The European Studies Program and the Department of Political Science and International Relations present "Brexit: A Crisis for Europe or Britain?"
This lecture will feature Timothy Oliver, Dahrendorf Fellow at London School of Economics IDEAS and Visiting Scholar at NYU on Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 2:30-4:00 pm in 223 Gore Hall.
As has become apparent since the June 23 vote, Brexit is not going to be a process that is easy to define, implement, or conclude. It is not a process we can examine only from Britain’s perspective. Brexit is a series of thirteen interconnected negotiations, debates, and votes that are potentially open-ended and which could change the EU and the whole of Europe. How ill the EU handle the challenge of Brexit? What new relationship will it seek with the departing UK? How might Brexit change European geopolitics? What might it mean for the study of European integration and ideas of how integration takes place?
All are welcome to this public event. For more information contact the Center for Global & Area Studies at 302-831-3202.
