Lunch & Learn: Self Care & Supporting Students in Crisis
Graduate students often need strategies to manage their stress levels and mental health within the culture of a rigorous academic program. This session will give students an opportunity to discuss common experiences around:
1) the academic culture of perfectionism,
2) power differentials between themselves, their students, and their faculty, and
3) the experience of marginalization within a department, program, or course of study. In addition, participants will learn more about the campus resources available to them, and to the undergraduate students who may look to them for support during times of crisis. Lunch will be provided. There is no charge for this event, but registration is required. In order to allow for active participation, attendance will be capped at 40 students.
This program is for graduate students only.
