The University of Delaware welcomes Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maggie Haberman on May 4. The New York Times senior political correspondent joins UD's Nancy Karibjanian for the inaugural Byline event, presented by UD Journalism. The event marks World Press Freedom Day and will explore Haberman's years covering former President Donald Trump, documented in her New York Times best-seller, Confidence Man.

This is the first of annual events made possible with generous support from Edward A. Nickerson for UD journalism, designed to bring prominent journalists to campus to share their experiences with UD students.

A former reporter and editor for the Associated Press, Edward Nickerson joined UD's faculty in 1970. After retiring in 1991, "Nick" established a fund to support UD students. Countless UD Journalism graduates credit their experience in Nickerson's classroom as a roadmap to their success in the field.
