Brian Canfield is a Deputy Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice in the Consumer Protection Unit, focusing on data privacy enforcement. Brian joined the Delaware Department of Justice after graduating from New York University School of Law in 2022. Prior to law school, Brian attended the University of Delaware (Class of 2018), where he majored in finance with a minor in economics.
Delaware’s Personal Data Privacy Act, which gives Delaware residents more control over their data and imposes obligations on businesses, comes into effect on January 1, 2025. This presentation will discuss the legal framework in Delaware relating to data privacy and will examine the intersection of law and technology.
