Dr. David Hong, Building the Future of AI: Research, Tensors, and Live Data Exploration
David Hong is an assistant professor in ECE at UD, where he is also a resident faculty member of the Data Science Institute. Prior to UD, he was an NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Statistics and Data Science at the University of Pennsylvania and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow in EECS at the University of Michigan, where he completed his PhD. He also spent a summer as a Data Science Graduate Intern at Sandia National Labs. In this talk, he'll share some of his experiences from undergrad to grad school and beyond then show some of the research his lab does on the foundations of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We'll be doing some live data analysis on interesting tensor datasets coming from various scientific fields!
Please come out for a great discussion and lunch!
