Serverless System Design: Improved Security, Scalability,
and Cost Efficiency
Instance management can be expensive, complex, and vulnerable to security failures. This talk explores the challenges of traditional instance-based infrastructure and how shifting to serverless offers a simpler, more scalable model. Using the recent Shai-Hulud npm supply-chain attack as context, we will examine how system complexity amplifies risk and how serverless system design through the cloud can minimize attack surface.
