The 2024 Winter Institute on Learning is scheduled for January 17-19. It will take place on Zoom with the mornings devoted primarily to working together in Zoom and the afternoons devoted primarily to individual work outside of Zoom.

The institute will focus on specifications grading, an alternative grading strategy that provides students with explicit information about what they need to do to earn different grades in a course while providing them with opportunities to make choices and resubmit some assignments. More specifically, the institute will help faculty prepare to implement or revise specifications grading in one or more future courses, ideally one planned for the spring 2024 or fall 2024 semesters.
